well-formed.eigenfactor.org

Well-formed.eigenfactor.org is a cooperation between the Eigenfactor project (data analysis) and Moritz Stefaner (visualization). The project presents interactive visualizations based on the Eigenfactor™ Metrics and hierarchical clustering to explore emerging patterns in citation networks.

The project consists at this time of four different views. A relation circle gives an overview of the whole citation network, inspired by Sankey diagrams and stacked bar charts, the changes over time are displayed in Eigenfactor™ Score and clustered over time. A treemap shows the hierarchical clustering of journals. And a map-like visualization with an interactive magnifier (Go have a look, it’s georgous!) presents a clustering based on citations between journals.

The visualizations are built in Adobe Flash using the visualization library Flare.
