Nick Thuesen from the NYT developers team has put together a small application to play with the NYT API without having to write a single line of code. It allows you to query the API and see the resuts in a readable manner.It also provides you with the URL based on your query. This is great for quickly testing queries or simply to have a play with this great API. Read more

At the Where 2.0 conference Google announced the new Maps Data API.The official descriptions goes:
The Google Maps Data API allows client applications to view, store and update map data in the form of Google Data API feeds using a data model of features (placemarks, lines and shapes) and maps (collections of features). Read more

Microsoft recently released the Open Government Data Initiative website. The main objective of the OGDI is to publish and use a wide variety of public data from government agencies. OGDI is also a free, open source ‘starter kit’ with code that can be used to publish data on the Internet in a Web-friendly format with easy-to-use, open API's. Read more
