title="Adobe Flash" href="http://www.adobe.com/products/flash/">Flash interfaces visualizing different aspects of the internet. The range goes from web-monitoring to performance comparison and net usage indices.

Akamai monitors global Internet conditions around the clock. With this real-time data we identify the global regions with the greatest attack traffic, cities with the slowest Web connections (latency), and geographic areas with the most Web traffic (traffic density).

The visual approach used on these application is a real-world environment. The chosen visual language targets a tech-savy audience that apprecietes a polished look. Some of the applications may therefore seem a bit overloaded and “flashy” but the design is consistent and solid. Reducing the ink-data ratio following <a

We really liked the navigation of the detailled map using the rectange on the full-sized map. The possibility to zoom would be a nice addition, but given the visualized data we think it isn’t mandatory.

<img
